Дослідча стипендія НТШ-К ім. Микитчуків, 2024 року
ДОСЛІДЧА СТИПЕНДІЯ НТШ-К ім. МИКИТЧУКІВ
Наукове Товариство ім. Шевченка в Канаді (НТШ-К) повідомляє про надання щорічної дослідчої стипендії імени родини Микитчуків, засновників та багатолітніх відданих керівників Українського Бібліотечного Товариства в Торонті (УБТ – Toronto Ukrainian Library Аssociation – TULA). Iнформацію про УБТ і Карпа Микитчука можна знайти на https://tula-online.org/en/about. Після ліквідації фізичної бібліотеки та переведення її на інтернетну мережу в 2019–2020 рр., дирекція УБТ пожертвувала сто тисяч долярів Науковому Товариству ім. Шевченка в Канаді на встановлення стипендії для досліджень українських бібліотек та архівів у Канаді як також для написання бібліографій книжок виданих у Канаді.
Цього року, стипендія в сумі до $5,000 намічена на дослідження, упорядкування, та опис українських архівів. Особлива перевага надаватиметься дослідникові зацікавленому в упорядкуванні та описі архіву НТШ в Канаді за останніх тридцять років.
Зголошення на стипендію повинно включати опис проєкту (на одну-дві сторінки), коротку біографію дослідника, докладний бюджет, і два рекомендаційні листи від науковців-архівістів, які ознайомлені з працею апліканта.
Стипендія буде виплачена у двох ратах: перша, в сумі до $3,000, при визначенні стипендіянта, а друга, в сумі до $2,000, при завершенні проєкту і після отримання в НТШ-К копії скінченого опису архіву.
Реченець зголошення на стипендію: 31 серпня 2024 року.
Проголошення стипендіянта: до 30 вересня 2024 року.
Завершення проєкту: до 30 квітня 2025 року.

MYKYTCHUK FAMILY RESEARCH GRANT
The Shevchenko Scientific Society of Canada is pleased to announce this year’s Mykytchuk Family Research Grant in honour of Karpo Mykytchuk and his family, founders and long-time dedicated directors of the Toronto Ukrainian Library Association (TULA). Information about TULA and its founder, Karpo Mykytchuk, can be found at https://tula-online.org/en/about. After the liquidation of TULA’s physical library and the transfer of its collection online in 2019–2020, the Board of Directors of TULA donated one hundred thousand dollars to the Shevchenko Scientific Society of Canada to establish a grant for research pertaining to Ukrainian Canadian libraries and archives, as well as bibliographies of Ukrainian Canadian publications.
This year’s grant of up to $5,000 will focus on the organization and description of Ukrainian Canadian archives. Priority will be given to researchers and archivists with an interest in cataloguing and describing the Shevchenko Scientific Society of Canada archive for the last thirty years.
The grant application requires a project proposal (one to two pages in length), a short biography of the researcher, a detailed budget, and two letters of recommendation from scholars, researchers, or library/archive professionals who are familiar with the applicant and their work.
The grant will be distributed in two installments: the first, in the sum of up to $3,000, on the announcement of the grant recipient, and the second, in the sum of up to $2,000, on completion of the project and after the Shevchenko Scientific Society of Canada has received a copy of the completed description of the archive.
Deadline of application for the research grant: August 31, 2024.
Announcement of the grant recipient: by September 30, 2024.
Deadline for completion of project: April 30, 2025.
